We invite you to experience making a coaster using “Tatami,” a unique material in Japanese architecture. For the coaster’s border, we have selected “Shiracha-iro” (Pale Tea Color), a traditional Japanese hue inspired by the essence of Fufu Tokyo Ginza. All necessary materials are provided for you. Please enjoy this craft at your leisure in the comfort of your room.
An experience that allows you to explore Japanese culture and history through tatami, a material that has long been part of daily life in Japan. At the Tokyo location of a long-established tatami shop dating back to the Edo period, you will select the tatami materials and edging to create your own original tray. A dedicated time slot is reserved exclusively for FUFU guests.
A special moment in which you can experience shakyo—the historic practice of hand-copying sutras for a safe and peaceful journey—within the quiet comfort of your guestroom. Step away from the lively streets of Ginza and enjoy a reflective time as you focus your mind through the act of sutra copying.
Once you have finished copying the sutra, please leave it with your butler and we will donate it to the temple at a later date.
